Social responsibility

I have always been a believer in the underdog, those not given a chance or the resources to live more fully.

Home is not just a private sanctuary. It’s where we nurture our most meaningful relationships. We’re grateful that we can contribute to those relationships, not only through the products we deliver, but also in the ways in which we give back to our community. One of our most important partners in our social responsibility work is The Bowery Mission, a NYC-based non-profit organization that have fed, housed and supported homeless people since 1879. Last year, The Bowery Mission provided more than 558,000 warm meals and 140,000 nights of shelter and served nearly 400 adults in its residential recovery programs. We’re proud to support The Bowery Mission’s programs by sharing what we do best: Creating beautiful and functional environments where people can thrive. Says our founder Allan Spivack: “I see a responsibility to utilize our resources to level the playing field when I can, for those who need help, to provide for those who might not have had a chance or a choice in their lives.”

Our most recent collaborations include the renovation of the recreation room in the Harlem outpost of the Men’s Residential Program and construction, furniture, fixtures and fittings for The Bowery Mission Community Hope Resource Center. Both projects have resulted in trauma-informed, stylish and peaceful spaces where people in the Mission’s programs can relax, learn and enjoy the company of others.

“Allan Spivack of RGI Home has made a world of difference by enhancing our environment to promote a culture of dignity and value, which is so critical for all of us,” says The Bowery Mission’s Senior Director of Partnerships, Laurie-Anne Bentley. Our next venture will be a new dining hall in Tribeca, and we look forward to continuing this journey for many years to come.

We are guided by profit and purpose.

Our aim is to strengthen our ties to community through the products we deliver, the personal connections we make and the ways in which we give back. We seek to grow our brand with those whose intention is to go beyond themselves and contribute to an organization that embraces community building, societal support, innovation and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to ensure that empathy is woven throughout our company culture so that our success is measured not just by what we built, but what we left.
